Hometown: Clarkston, MI
Major: Biochemistry
Co-op Employer: Translume, Inc
Why I chose Kettering: The co-op program is truly outstanding. I can't think of any better way of educating and preparing someone for the real-world than to alternate traditional education with work experience in their field.
Where my Co-op Job Took Me: I'm working on a project that uses a diode laser to detect and sort microscopic particles. Soon I will be working with blood samples and separating the whole blood into its cellular components. Using the same principles I will also begin to work with hydraulic fluid for an application needed by a large industrial partner of Translume, Inc. It's a research project that involves hands-on work as well as critical thinking. It's truly fascinating!
What keeps me busy while I'm on Campus:
Greener Engineering Organization (GEO), Kettering Student Government (KSG), Operations Council and Outdoors Club |
